On Friday, July 31st, The Crystal Creative team had the honor of bringing a new experience to the city of Portland – Sundown in Bridgetown. The night held a series of concerts, DJ performances, and a handful of the best in local food and drink. But perhaps the most interesting part was this: the space had never before been used as a concert venue. Where was the venue? Underneath the Burnside Bridge.
As the heat of the 103° day faded, nearly 500 people traded the sunshine for the cool shade of the bridge. The industrial landscape fostered a beautifully raw space for musicians to perform and connect sincerely with their audience. While the sun set on this searing summer day, the mood was high and the drinks were plenty. Strangers became friends, feet grew tired from dancing, and artists filled the space with effort and passion.
Photographer Robbie King captured the essence of the evening through the lens of his film camera.
